[OFFICIAL STATEMENT] - - New Injury Media, Inc.
Issued by: Chad Northrup (Founder)
Date: October 11, 2007

First off, Id just like to say a big “Thank You” to everyone who has assisted New Injury Media in maintaining itself over the past 3 years. Its people visiting our websites, watching our video efforts and hearing what we have to say that has allowed us to grow and advance ourselves to cover the dynamics of Webdesign, Music Production and several Video Multimedia projects.

The decision made in September has left everyone wondering just has been going on with New Injury Media (NIM). Ever since we brought our Holiday site to life in October 2002, We have been fortunate enough to expand and work on many, many different media platforms such as New Infliction Wrestling, The Autumn Effect, New Injury Films, and many bands on MySpace. NIM has spent much of 2007 working on Audio projects for the latter, and eagerly looked forward to re-inventing the annual project, The Autumn Effect.

The Autumn Effect had been around for quite some time, both on and offline. But it was common knowledge that towards the end of last season, those working on the project were growing tired of its mild presentation. It didn’t offer much in the way of capturing a solid audience. Heading into this year, we highly hoped that as we went to the drawing board, we would walk away with several new ideas for 2007. Sadly, that did not happen. We did try to make something of it however, and the results have now been exposed. The Autumn Effect has closed it’s doors, and will more than likely, never open itself again. I have a big stake in the project, and I can honestly say that I am not holding my breath on “Capture the Fall 2008”.

As fans of the Autumn Effect are aware, This decision was quickly acted upon. The Autumn Effect had been more than three weeks into production when it would close itself to those who had looked into it since starting in 2004. I was personally responsible for the decision to pull the plug. With that, concerns grew for the much more popular holiday site, Mount Crumpit.

Mount Crumpit was started in 2002 and has been a personal staple of my holiday season every year since. When I looked at the decision I had made, I decided that I would, in fact, do the same for Mount Crumpit. The reason being, I had spent every year since 2002 documenting and making memories of my holiday season. That might sound harmless to some, but for me, this was an awakening of sorts. I don’t necessarily want to attach these projects to my personal life. I released a quick statement on Mount Crumpit, where I stated that the forum would remain open but wouldn’t feature any new content whatsoever for 2007. I made the decision to take the fourth quarter of 2007 off from both seasonal projects.

And today, two weeks after the decisions I made, I have opted to retract some of my decisions. As for the Autumn Effect, sadly that will remain as-is right now. There are no plans to resurrect the series in the foreseeable future.

After much deliberation, I have decided that Mount Crumpit will not suffer the same fate as its seasonal opponent. Mount Crumpit will be open for the 2007 Holiday season. We at NIM have taken the steps to assure that our affiliation with Tripod stays in effect. For fans of the holiday site, there will be several changes to the dynamic of the forum that will make it unlike any prior year.

First off, the site will not feature any direct connection to myself, or anyone working on the project. Last year and in the years before, we kept a “Captain’s Log” of our holiday activities, as well as documented which holiday movies we were watching. Neither feature will be used this year. The “Captain’s Log” will be functional, but will showcase newly added material and news strictly pertaining to the functionality of the site.

Reviews will remain intact and will become the primary influence of Mount Crumpit. New reviews will be added this year, with several already decided by Andrew Bidwell and Myself. All reviews from previous seasons remain as they were, unless otherwise noted in the “Captain’s Log”. I would like to personally announce that the review I am most excited about this year is that of the How the Grinch Stole Christmas film. This was our first review, and this year, we will examine it seven years after it blew Hollywood away at the box office, and changed us at NIM forever.

Perhaps more will happen as the season draws near. As of now, these are the only true plans that have been addressed concerning the Web projects of NIM. We’re sorry to those of you who might find some of this ridiculous or unreasonable. We’re just looking to move forward. As it stood on September 29th, we weren’t doing that. We were moving laterally. That’s something we don’t want to be proud of.

In closing, keep your eyes peeled for the condensed version of Mount Crumpit throughout 2007. We hope to make this site something that doesn’t necessarily need to be updated daily, but rather something that can be used, recalled and visited year-round by those who share in our enjoyment of the Holiday Season. Thank you.
