MCR108.5 MOUNT CRUMPIT ROCK RADIO 108.5 Mount Crumpit Rock Radio is a new addition this year. Every couple weeks, Mount Crumpit founders Chad Northrup and Andy Bidwell will get together to host a one-hour radio show featuring Questions from callers and site-goers, to rock music and contests. Here is where we will post somewhat of a transcript for the show. Air Date: September 31, 2006 Host(s): Chad & Andy Music on Cue: Deftones, Circa Survive, Zebrahead, HIM Transcribed By: cjn 10.16.06 Introduction After the usual “They’re relentless” introduction with Saosin, we’re greeted by Chad and Andy, who welcome us to the show. We’re told that in the hour, both Chad and Andy will be answering questions from the website, as well as take the 10th caller to give away a trip to Whitetail Acres Christmas Tree Farm. Andy sends us to the first song Song: “Hole in the Earth“ by The Deftones Questions for Chad Andy welcomes us back lets us all know that the new Deftones album will be in stores on Halloween. He quickly gets right to the questions for Chad. During the four questions, we basically learn that Chad does, in fact, write all the reviews on the website. He also expects a lot of new things this year, like audio and video clips. He even mentions how Andy will be involved in the review process this year, and when asked what holiday movie was his favorite, he responded very firmly, the Grinch film. Commercials Questions for Andy This is where listeners got to learn about Andys sensitive side. He tells us his favorite parts of the holiday season, like Movies, Cocoa and candy canes. He also confirms that his favorite holiday film is the Grinch. He jokingly says that he wants to devote one day to the movie, seeing how many times he can watch it in one day. He also explains busy he is during the holiday season working for the family Christmas tree business. When asked by listener Kyle is he could ace the Grinch Aptitude test, Andy responded that he couldn’t this year, but he could the next year. The alarm sounded and Chad and Andy told people to start calling in, as we headed into our second song of the night Song: “Holding Someone’s Hair Back“ by Circa Survive Contest Chad welcomes us back and announces listener Colin from East Syracuse, NY the 10th caller. Colin now has a chance to win some DVDs and a trip to Whitetail Acres Christmas Tree Farm. The game starts with Chad playing a 10 second audio clip from a holiday movie featured on the site. If Colin can name what movie its from, he wins that movie on DVD. If he names all 4 movies, he gets a trip for 2 to Whitetail Acres. Colin easily nails the first two clips, one from Eight Crazy Nights and the other from Christmas Vacation. He almost loses on the third clip, but after being allowed to specify, he nailed it as the Grinch Cartoon, versus the film. The fourth clip was the most difficult, as Colin jokingly phoned-a-friend (his Mother) and eagerly announced that he already knew the answer, Nightmare before Christmas. Andy and Chad basically discuss why they enjoy the movie so much. They talk about message boards where people make negative claims about the movie, and reasons why their claims are so ridiculous. Chad brings up the re-release of the Grinch cartoon on DVD this November before going into the final song of the night. Song: “Vampire Heart“ by HIM In Closing After both agreeing they enjoyed that song, they thank us for listening. Andy congratulates Colin on his winnings earlier. After a few plugs of the site, and some more thank you’s, the two sign off. |
